Prince’s Trust International brings Vibe Check to Barbados’ youth

As part of their mission to support young people on their journey from education to employment, Prince’s Trust International has developed a new WhatsApp-based platform called Vibe Check.

The platform builds on the organisation’s existing work in Barbados and aims to reach young people with information and support on topics including self-esteem, communication skills, and dealing with peer pressure.

These are all areas where young people have told Prince’s Trust International that they struggle - and which hold them back from reaching their full potential.  Vibe Check, brought to users by Prince’s Trust International, will invite young people to sign up to receive regular WhatsApp educational and inspirational messages in written and audio-visual formats. depending on their preference. Users will additionally be able to anonymously send their questions or dilemmas to expert Agony Aunts and inspirational figures, including professionals and sport stars.

This service will be implemented in partnership with local schools to ensure it is rooted in pre-existing support systems. With tips and advice “to become the best you”,  Vibe Check will encourage Barbados’ youth to believe in themselves, communicate well and manage their feelings – positively impacting the Caribbean country’s society and economy.

Vibe Check is powered by Turn.io’s technology which was developed to help social impact organisation teams to have life-changing conversations at scale.
